On arrival we were tired and chillaxing on the benches overlooking the canal and Vincent, the host, noticed us and just took it upon himself to bring our bags inside. After a quick shower (with all the mod cons) we walked over the rail bridge to Le Grande Brasserie in the train station and their menu and food was just perfect. After returning we shared a few hours with Vincent and really got to appreciate the awesome effort he put in to make Quand la ville dort such an outstanding BnB in the Agen district. He found the old 1940's building, arranged the finance and project managed the upgrades to the rooms (latest styles) while the decor is retro 1940's (modern materials). It's really well maintained, and there are several private nooks in various places to enjoy nibbles and drinks. When we had to depart early to catch the 7am train to Toulouse, Vincent offered to prep a take-away breakfast - WOW ! This is an experience, not just a room. If you can catch Vincent in a quiet moment, ask about the original building, the renovations, and Agen's recent history, and be enthralled. I know we were.

an unforgettable place where to go and stay a little while. In a magnificent house builte in the years 40' by two architects and furnished by our fantastic host Vincent with pieces dating years 50 and 60: unique! I was lucky enough to reserve the suite at an absolutely convenient price considered what you get, with a beautiful terrace overlooking the Canal du Midi. And Agen is a surprising little town with good restaurants and pedestrian streets with very nice shops. It is not Florence but it is a place where to rest, may have a "balade" over the canal du midi that conncects the Mediterranean sea with the ocean. If you are on the way between Toulouse and Bordeaux, go there, you will not regret it

Vincent is a charming and welcoming host who clearly takes great pride in making sure that his guests are comfortable. The property has been tastefully decorated with huge care and attention to detail. Our room was beautiful with a large, comfortable bed and a fabulous bathroom. It was very hot and we really appreciated the air conditioning. Breakfast was freshly prepared with a lovely selection of bread, pastries, fruit and freshly squeezed juice. We enjoyed it on the terrace and it was the perfect way to start the day.

Art Deco inspired hotel is lovely. The host Vincent is very welcoming & works extremely hard, however in some outside areas it appears to be proving a little too much to keep tidy. The location is good just 15 mins to the centre. The Walk through the canal area recommended by Vincent was fabulous. Every area of the property has the potential to be spectacular again Our room was compact but lovely nevertheless. It was Nice to have a Coffee machine in the room & cakes as well as Haribo Sweets on our pillows.

Amazing spacious room with 180 view overlooking Agens in an incredible large house with an interesting history and decorated with an eclectic art collection. The bed and bedding were of excellent quality. Pleasant neighbourhood location right on the canal and convenient for the town center. Short walk to town center via an iron bridge crossing the train tracks, arriving at the station and the shopping and historical districts. Delicious continental breakfast was provided. Tres Cool place to stay!
